Mastodon is a different beast.

Don’t treat it like a bird…
or you’ll end up with a broken cage.🙃

@knowprose Great article!

@ai6yr Thanks man!

The metaphor wrote itself. :)

@knowprose It's true, but why did you write it in LinkedInSpeak (i.e. too many new lines instead of proper paragraphs)?

@drewtowler I wrote it as I write.

I suspect you spend a lot of time on LinkedIn.

🤣

@knowprose Hardly any, I prefer r/linkedinlunatics for entertainment purposes.

@drewtowler Ahh.

Well.

Your characterization was...
Odd.
It could be seen as insulting.

Not that you or I are worried about that.

Now if you look at my pinned post...

Right.

Have fun with your LinkedInThings.

@knowprose Yeah.it is an elephant and the most energetic animal i have seen.
They circled our vehicle when we went to visit them in their homes in the wild.

@2003MugishaPhocit That must have been an experience.

I don't know much about elephants.

3 males together is rare I think...

But I have never seen them in the wild.

Quite the opportunity you had!

@knowprose it is very sorry to hear that you have not seen any and indeed they are scarce world wide.
But maybe if you can organise and one day visit Uganda,we have very many in the national parks with other wild animals that are so unique.
You can search about the elephants on google but this is not enough.
By the way,one of the interesting things with elephants,they females have a gestation period of 22 months.
Hahah😀,and other interesting lessons from them.

@2003MugishaPhocit Well, Uganda won't be in my travel plans soon. If you'd caught me 20-30 years ago, I might have been on a plane already!

I have read up a lot on elephants. Like most things. Fascinating for so many reasons.

Your picture has me wondering.

What did you interrupt?

The path makes sense. All 3 males seem evenly spaced. And your vehicle looks like the new threat.

This picture has a story!

@knowprose sorry but you should plan to come and visit the pearl of Africa.
And thanks for the research you made on them to know how they carry on their lives.
Now back to the photo,those elephants you saw standing evenly,they were in front of our car,but there were others at the back,and all sides.
Our car was found in the middle.
It was not a new thing to them but they were protecting their young ones from any harm they thought from us.
And the drive had to shut the car ingeene.

@2003MugishaPhocit I know that the males will show up to protect. And African and Asian elephants use very low frequencies to communicate.

It looks like they were defending against something.

You showed up in the middle of it.

Unless you were driving very slowly, they were reacting to something else.

Thanks for the invitation.

If I ever get free of my health issues, I'll consider visiting.

@knowprose Yeah,and that is a fact about their communication.
Their young one was sleeping in the pathways so they were reacting against us!
But once we put the car ingeene off,and everyone kept quite,they slowly withdrew themselves from our way and we continued with the advanturing.
However,this was one of the experiences I can't forget since it was my first time.
Come on and you visit,after your life has changed according to your wish.
