We won't have the Summer of love and peace of '68 again. But after what happened in the past few weeks I do hope for

the Summer of Renewables and Energy Independence

with heat pumps in the garden, solar panels on the roof, batteries replacing oil tanks in basements everywhere and everyone zooming along on electric bikes and in electric cars, buses and trains.

@jwildeboer did you know in Portugal you can't get permission to build a small structure (like a shed or detached garage) in your own land if you don't connect it to the power grid?

(I might be iffy on details, but have learned that's a thing)
