As the #MarginalRevolution commenters say, one of the likely outcomes of this war is that the Gulf States will build more pipeline capacity to bypass the Strait of Hormuz. It reminds me of how the 1972 UK coalminers' strike led the government to prepare for 1984...

And if we're lucky this will accelerate the transition away from fossil fuels.
