NYT reporting that under this ceasefire each ship will pay $2M to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.
It was $0 before Trump launched this illegal war.

100-130 ships pass the Strait daily.

Trump just gave Iran an extra $100M-$130M per day.
Masterful gambit, sir.

@cdarwin I wouldn’t be surprised if 50% of Oman’s take goes directly (or indirectly) to Trump.

@jdeisenberg @cdarwin

Now that would make sense as a motivation from his point of view (although everything could easily have gone very differently, so it's hardly what I'd call a *plan*), but from Oman's point of view, what are they really getting for that 50%? He's not good value for money these days.

@petealexharris @cdarwin Good point. Only thing I can think of is: “Nice little civilization you got there. Too bad if anything were to happen to it.”

@jdeisenberg @cdarwin

Turns out, now we know nothing happens, although not something we can count on.

However

"Nice little petrodollar/AI bubble economy you got there, shame if anything happened to the data centres and oil was priced in yuan" seems like a good counteroffer.

@cdarwin or as he'd put it:"Total and complete victory. 100 percent. No question about it" 🤡
@cdarwin I'd say it's the literal least he can do (a quantity he specialises in) considering how much damage he's done to Iran.
@cdarwin 4D chess. Art of the deal. Truly a business genius. I hope Iran charges the US more than everyone else.
@cdarwin
now tell me they will pay in Yuan!
@om @cdarwin They will pay in Chinese Yuan 🎉

@cdarwin

So much winning…

@cdarwin
I'd wager that we see a massive rise in fortification along the strait as well, and probably along the red sea by huthis. This clusterfuck showed everyone how effective it is to block central shipping lanes.

What we will not see are initiatives by conservative governments to extend the renewable energy infrastructure because now "oil and LNG is cheap again" - until the next time.

@cdarwin *$200M–$260M
@Krazov @cdarwin No, your numbers are the total amount. Iran is splitting the money with Oman.
@ClickyMcTicker @cdarwin Yes, you are correct. I missed that part.
But do we know the split? could be 60/40 or 80/20
@cdarwin It seems that TFG should be paying every $2M passage fee himself, out of his own personal profits since he brought it on through his own incompetent warmongering.
