Now that would make sense as a motivation from his point of view (although everything could easily have gone very differently, so it's hardly what I'd call a *plan*), but from Oman's point of view, what are they really getting for that 50%? He's not good value for money these days.

Turns out, now we know nothing happens, although not something we can count on.

However

"Nice little petrodollar/AI bubble economy you got there, shame if anything happened to the data centres and oil was priced in yuan" seems like a good counteroffer.
