President Trump, in a post on social media, says that based on mediation via Pakistan, he will agree not to bomb Iran for two weeks -- if Tehran agrees to completely and immediately open the Strait of Hormuz.
Reporters at the White House were given a lid about 12 minutes after the president's social media announcement, so it is unlikely he will make an appearance tonight to elaborate on his statement. (The press office can always lift the lid but this rarely occurs.)

@newsguyusa Just doesn't seem legit.

@newsguyusa how much does Iran make per ship transit?

How much does Trump make?

@newsguyusa

well, *that* won't be making his best buddy putin very happy...

The real threat of nuking was coming from Israel anyhow, and they did not publicly sign off on the peace plan yet. So the question is how well does Trump control Bibi, assuming he's even trying at this point.

@newsguyusa I donโ€™t trust this #taco this time. Itโ€™s too much for even him. The Republicans might impeach him for goving the whole game away.. Or maybe his brain is just dead meat at this point.
@newsguyusa they totally wonโ€™t agree, but itโ€™s his opportunity to back out of the threat
@newsguyusa Sooo โ€ฆ Pakistan should get the FIFA Peace Award?
@newsguyusa sure would be nice if the media could tell us what those objectives are, now that theyโ€™re supposedly complete.
@newsguyusa Trump adds โ€œstopped a madman from committing genocide on Iranโ€ to his Nobel Prize application.
