I sent an email out to our list for GoBikeCamping.com but I figured I'd also ask the awesome people on here.

I've had decision paralysis and can't figure out what I should focus on for GoBikeCamping in 2026.

The site started out as a way to find campsites while cycle touring in the USA. It's expanded into Canada and includes more POIs (like bike shops). I've started adding transit options so people can plan tours around taking the train.

But I've been thinking a lot about how to support...

people who want to leave Meta but still share their trips online with their friends. And then how can we leverage that sharing into more info for trip planning for the community. https://www.crazyguyonabike.com/ does a lot of this, but is hard to search and doesn't take advantage of modern technologies.

I've also been thinking about how companies like Strava take our data and then tell us how we can use it. This alternative site could sync with Garmin, etc and give you the ability to share that info...

Here are the things I asked our users to rank in terms of importance to them (and also asked them to throw in suggestions):

- Add trip sharing functionality (helps us get off of Meta)
- Keep working on transit. Add more Amtrak lines/buses/regional rail
- Add more types of POIs, like water, food, and bathrooms.
- Pull in data from Open Streets Maps POIs
- Work on sharing this data, add it all to Open Streets Maps.
- build mobile app
- Start adding some international hiker/biker sites.

If anyone on here has any suggestions I'd love to hear them!
