Dear Prime Minister,

I am shocked and deeply disturbed by your inaction and inability to call out the President of the United States who is using the rhetoric of a madman.
Canada should call in the USA Ambassador, close our airspace to USA forces on Iran-related flights, and denounce in public this clearly criminal and suicidal rhetoric.

Sadly it would be nice to do so but not knowing total involvement of what has to be walked gently thru ..one needs to be careful when handling a situation like this one : I believe that Carney is doing the best thus far in the ways he has done so far ...
We do not know exactly what he has to work with even if we see something not liked .. He is protecting Canada in best way at his end ... Governments work in ways sometimes unknown to others and not in ways of other buffoons ...
There is no instant relief ...

@chris sorry you see it that way and I do not see that support other than not wanting any nuclear items for Iran to get access to .. Fear will only make things worse ..

No one has control when madmen with mental issues and too much access and have people behind them living in same Fear are not able to deal with them ..

Problem is OLD men in modes of stupidity which should have never been allowed to do what is being done in the world in a few countries is like watching them in a seniors home against each or for each other causing mayhem for everyone

there're others that are being very quiet who are a danger as well not to only few ..but whole world .. WE need to pray to have mercy upon our souls that things will change for the better ...

Yes, I agree with this perspective, and maybe it's the perspective of a woman who's been in the house with a madman, but I do not think it is wise to draw the attention of the Mad King at this time.

Carney has been gently gently handling T with kid gloves while steering Canada to a better place trade-wise, and it's been working. I would prefer more of the same than any direct confrontation right now.

@northernlights @Lstn2urmama @chris I've got a better idea than bending the knee to Trump. Greenland is only 18 miles from Canada at it's nearest - half of Canadians think we should join the EU.

The EU needs fossil fuels, we've got fossil fuels. They need critical materials, we've got critical materials They need strategic materials, we've got copper, uranium, potash, LNG, better to sell to EU partners than a country run by a criminal genocide fool.

I'm wondering if you took my suggestion to avoid drawing T's attention right now to be the same thing as submitting to him. If so, that was not my intention.

Let me clarify: in my opinion, Carney should neither submit nor confront (unless part of a group confronting). He should carry on diversifying our trade relations, strengthening our defence, and yes, drawing closer to Europe.

You stated that neither side should target conflict, while turning a blind eye to the threat of genocide. Canada has a memorial, very close to the Parliament, to ensure we never again turn a blind eye to genocide.
Should the next generation start preparing to construct the next memorial a little closer?
