Today was a good day to be alive.
I met up with a friend, walked around a castle, got kisses from a leonberger, had several books delivered, and very shortly I'll have something flavourful and rich to put in my face.
What a great, great day.

Unrequested book-drop:
1. Destination Unknown; Bill Königsberg.
When Micah and CJ connect in New York City, Micah is pretending to be more out than he really is. CJ isnt just out, he's loud and proud, and Micah can't help but be drawn to him.
As their lives become more entangled in the AIDs epidemic that's laying waste to their community, whatever it is between them will be tested - but it will also be a lifeline and a bond that will determine their futures.
2. Flamer by Mike Curato.
This graphic novel is set in an American summer camp. Emerging gay identity, bigotry, mental health, and social pressures and drawn in practiced and rough pencil work.
3. Pilot Imposter by James Hannaham
A recommendation from Their Eminence @kimlockhartga
I know nothing about this book other than the descriptive toot Kim put out a fortnight or so ago.
I love it already.
4. Visitations by Corey Egbert.
This graphic novel has been on my radar for a while. It covers religion, extremism, family dynamics, mental health, and childhood trauma.
Well, I have it now. Kleenex on stand-by.
And finally 5. The Civil War of Amos Abernathy.
This book doesn't seem to be available in the UK. Shame, because I read it online through an American library system and loved it. I wanted my own copy. I now have my own copy. It's signed by the author too!
Cutie tween gay boy Amos is a civil war reenacter, and his ma organises the whole thing. He write a diary to a civil war solider who is a trans-man. He tries to get his ma to show the misogyny, anti-Queer, anti-black/brown elements of the reenactment.
So cute, full of representation, and plenty of preachy morals.

Also, that is effusive praise. I'm just a regular girl.
