Solarpunk Novels Are Hard to Find: this is what I was telling folks at the Pittsburgh Festival of Books.
It was a cold rainy windy day, yet folks were coming out to talk to authors & buy books. The best part: talking to people about solarpunk.
A surprising number of people had heard of solarpunk!
The movement is growing!
But most had not read any: there just aren't that many stories out there (which is why I started the podcast,to collect a list of recommended #solarpunk reads).

We lift up stories about a more sustainable and just world and talk about the struggle to get there. To build better futures, we need to imagine them first. Click to read Bright Green Futures, by Susan Kaye Quinn, a Substack publication with hundreds of subscribers.
I start by telling folks solarpunk is hopeful climate fiction, that we're envisioning a more just & sustainable world & the fight to get there.
Then I show them the series: it takes them a moment to see it: that all four covers collectively form a single image.

People get into it! I tell them it isn't just a cool art thing—it's an effort to embody the interconnectedness of solarpunk solutions in the structure of the stories.
Each book has a different protagonist & the mystery is passsed baton-style from one to the next.
