Razor 1911 made a PC demo for Revision 2026 that's a whirlwind retrospective of the group, touching on a lot of warez/art/demoscene tech, tools, and history since they started in 1985. It won the PC Demo category and clearly earned it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2AnbYNudAyM

Like all demos, you're losing something watching a video on YouTube. It was meant to be viewed running real-time on your computer. If you have a Windows PC with a good graphics card, give the party-optimized executable linked on Pouet a try, or wait for the proper release. https://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=105954

Of course, there's an NFO file. "If you enjoy this product, consider buying it." https://www.pouet.net/prod_nfo.php?which=105954&font=1

@andybaio
It's a good closing message.
The full message is shown at the bottom of the .nfo file, as rendered in the dubmood YouTube video.

edit: I have just read the .nfo file in the zip file, as found on the official Razor1911 website (linked from Pouet).

The last line is missing:
"Support quality software. And stop fascism."

@andybaio
The soundtrack was released on Bandcamp, in up to 24 bit quality (if you choose lossless).

Pay what you want, minimum 0.00
But it looks like some people have considered buying it.

@andybaio
The product made me happy.

(Yes, that's a homage to "that one". The one made me a high performance programmer and grumpy old man for vibe coders)

@andybaio I don't have a windows setup anymore :( Wondering about some sort of VM with a pass through to the GPU maybe? Is that even a thing that would work?
@andybaio Even back then when I had a Windows PC I had a hard time getting the demos to run. I think it was an entirely different thing before the multitude of different hardware vendors and with more or less clearly defined specs.
@andybaio damn i can only imagine how emotional that was for someone way more involved in the scene
@jplebreton @andybaio
Especially the memorial section (at 6:12 in the dubmood video on YouTube).
@andybaio fuck. This is amazing.
@andybaio Thank you very much for posting this

@andybaio Oh hecking nostalgic...

I never got much into the whole demoscene thing, but some of the videos are a lot of fun and did really neat things for their times.

(And yeah, I know, the other thing, but no comment.)

@andybaio Razor1911 is quite possibly my favorite demo group ever. They have been around all my life, always delivering such beautiful compositions, visuals, everything.

this is just as stunning as i expected. Incredible.

@andybaio good to still have demoscene gods come and kick our balls/ovaries once in a while. This was stunning and absurd.
