In a just and equitable world, the Untied Kingdom would be paying Caribbean and African countries #reparations for the horrors and damage done by centuries of #slavery.

A #racist rabble like #ReformUK does not represent or belong in a just and equitable world.

@wood5y Whilst the world waits for the next slobbering presidential threat, Reform utters rubbish from their mindless brains.
@wood5y The whole idea that 'ah, but Britain then helped to end slavery' as a justification for not paying reparations would mean that any bully could get away with extreme wealth by 'changing future practices'. Also isn't quite what actually happened, notwithstanding the efforts of certain well-known campaigners. The leopard doesn't change his spots, just his behaviour.
@wood5y The UK certainly paid plenty of reparations to the slave owners, people like Coulson. Strange that ReformLtd seem not to have noticed that at all.

@HarriettMB And all thaat money was channeled into big houses, factories, railways, etc., further reinforcing the recipients' wealth.

BTW: There's still a Colston Street (BS1) and a Colston Road (BS5) in Bristol that city city is doing nothing to remove.
