Saturday vs Sunday commute. The highway wasn't bad either day, but the gravel road ( I have 3-4 miles depending on route, to get to pavement) was soupy and sloppy-mud, slush, ruts- from snow earlier in the week then again Saturday night and Sunday. Mix of snow (maybe some rain) with melting continues tonight and tomorrow (Monday/Tuesday) then some warmer drier days-at least until the weekend...lol #weather #Alberta #Canada #April #Sprinter #snow #commute #landscape #photography

@Chris I guess it makes sense as a transitional season. I suppose you must have flowers by now though?
Spring can be one of our snowiest times-- I think this year is extra wet, which can be inconvenient, but after a dry autumn and moderate snowfall winter, the moisture is quite important. Even the fact that it has been rather cool more than not helps to delay drying..

@cohanf Erantis flowers can pop up here from the middle of January. But this winter has been colder than usual, hard frost and snow kept everything down till the end of February, where we had a heavy rainfall.. And then things accelerated in a few weeks. In the garden Cyclamen coum was blooming around the 1st of March, snowdrops and crocus also. And the blooming continues, this year a Hepatica nobilis started blooming, for the first time, a week ago.

@Chris Nice! We could see the earliest things here by mid to late April, depending on the weather for the next few weeks..

@cohanf it is worth to give a thought, as if the Atlantic currents ("AMOC") stops or changes, due to human use of fossil fuels, Denmark could get seasons more like Canada. Some calculations say that this could happen in a few decades.
I am not longing for this to happen.

@Chris yes I've been aware of that possibility, it would be a massive shock for (north) western Europe! It's always been fascinating to see that so many places that are as far or farther north than us ( I mean where I am, of course many latitudes in Canada) are so much milder!
