November 2022, the newsposters arrived in their thousands, they all got on one server, I blocked it because news websites exist and that was that but I kinda figured it was still a server
always figured that getting news from social media was like getting sandwiches from the pub next to the sandwich shop but it's not really, it's more like someone in the pub randomly throwing a sandwich at you every few minutes whether you want it or not and these sandwiches aren't even from the pub OR the sandwich shop right next door, they're just random dudes chucking damp sandwiches at you going hey mate, try this, it's fucking awful
news is the stuff that you go and get from the news hole when it's news time, the stuff that comes to you when you're in the middle of doing something unrelated isn't news, that's something else

Dang, I can see this, it's such a good analogy.
I post/boost news with 'Everyone' visibility when I feel like there's something actionable to it, and I post art and other personal things as 'Followers', because I want to prevent webscrapers & bots. And I feel discouraged from posting cool stuff at all _because_ of the nonstop pol. So I end up appearing annoying, and yet I really feel invisible. I'll have to think about it...

Here or anywhere else where people can comment on the articles, nothing valuable is very rarely added. It's either "this bad person is bad" or "this good thing is good" and someone giving them a reach around of "yeah, good thing is so damn good".
Then there's the local national broadcasting company's news site, where something bad is reported and the first comments scream how Putin is just misunderstood.
