Emily VelascoI just learned that North Yemen was southwest of South Yemen. I always assumed that North Yemen was the one to the north.
Locally, we have Covina and West Covina. West Covina is mostly south of Covina.

@alienghic no, i've gone north on the northbound 101. when you're on the freeway, the direction you go is based on the freeway, not the cardinal directions of earth
I lived in the valley for a while and I found the ~50 miles of mostly east/west confusing.
@alienghic the thing is, i would never say "go west on the 101." I would say, "take the 101 north and get off at Reseda" or something like that.
Now I remember why I thought it confusing.
It was the signs fault.
