Bluesky is having *real* trouble loading.

Of all the microblogging sites that came up after Twitter fell, it's the one that offends me the least (hence, I'm on it), but I also will not cry if it falls. Maybe more people will come here to Mastodon.

Mostly, they'll go to Instagram, I think, and contribute to the illusion that people are on Threads.

@OrionKidder I don't think it is too likely they go to a different type of social media entirely but I guess it doesn't matter whether they go to IG or Threads. The latest trend is that people are abandoning US platforms so that might help Mastodon as it is the only one out of these that is really based in Europe.

@ikuturso Fingers crossed. Europe has ~problems~, but they're far less fucked up than the US, and having a whole alternative digital universe from America's would be great. There already is one in China, of course, but that's under the control of the Party, so I have no desire to be on there. (Also, I neither write nor read Chinese, so it's not an option.)
