I get the sentiment, but Jesus did say he came to fulfill the law (of the old testament) not banish it. The old laws describe being lgbt as an abomination.
So even in Jesus's eyes there's a good theological argument that being trans and gay is still sinful, but it's simply something you're suppose to be "cured" of if you convert to Christianity.
I only point it out to describe how Christians justify this stuff and why appealing to Jesus's broader sermons isn't necessarily enough.
@contrasocial @jeffowski I think saying that the old laws describe being LGBT as abomination is an interpretation and I don't think it's probably the one the authors meant.
If that's the interpretation you have though Luke 19 then tells you that those who refuse to change their ways should be dragged before him and slain at his feet. There are other ways to interpret that also, but it would seem the most direct and straight forward one.
Jesus: "I wish I could, like a mother hen, gather you in." (Luke 13:34)
Reactionary Xians: "Weird pervert."
@jeffowski
"Funny. Gods angels had swords, not guns..."

@jeffowski I'm pretty sure Jesus's trying figure out why he is the motivator for war;he taught people to hate the poor, sick, weak, brown, yellow, red, female, planetary life forms, etc.
I think the old saying from when I was young may apply: "Jesus is coming, and boy is HE pissed."๐
