I get the sentiment, but Jesus did say he came to fulfill the law (of the old testament) not banish it. The old laws describe being lgbt as an abomination.

So even in Jesus's eyes there's a good theological argument that being trans and gay is still sinful, but it's simply something you're suppose to be "cured" of if you convert to Christianity.

I only point it out to describe how Christians justify this stuff and why appealing to Jesus's broader sermons isn't necessarily enough.
