I also can't stop thinking about how this might be the greatest missed opportunity in marketing history if Apple doesn't have a billboard of these saying "Shot on iPhone" lol

NASA astronauts have been allowed to use their phones in space, and Commander Reid Wiseman and Mission Specialist Christina Koch uploaded these photos shot on an iPhone 17 Pro Max SELFIE camera. What a layup!
It’ll be all over WWDC
just FYI, NASA is a government entity and won’t favor a company over another, so NASA won’t have anything to do with this. Every official NASA photo (and the logo) are considered open domain (that’s why you see clothing brands using NASA logos frequently) - but i don’t think this one is an official photo.

Apple will need to contact this astronaut (or her family) and then get permission to use her photo - so just give it a little time 😉
So does this mean the next Artemis mission will be called “Artemis III by Samsung Mobile” and have Samsung logos plastered all over the rocket and all astronauts will be given a Samsung phone for their photos?
That would be terrible lol
Maybe if there were some blue bubbles, otherwise nobody cares
I saw someone mention this in the Nikon forums since they are using the Z9 in space but it could have something to do with NDAs. That would be great marketing if Apple and Nikon could somehow market this
@mkbhd The only thing I see is confused data analysts at Apple looking at crash logs from these phones. "How many G-s did this iPhone just pull? What altitude is this sensor saying this phone is? Also what's up with these gyros?! How did this pass QA in the factory?" :P
@mkbhd think we have something that will beat that now honestly
