In other news, today was the sunniest day since getting our solar hooked up and the breaker wiring fixed and we produced a whooping 88.54 kWh which ~20 kWh more than our prior best day. For this time of year, it is probably 3x-4x more energy than the house needed on a day like today.

I'm a bit worried about shade, though, when some of the trees fill in with leaves later. Guess we'll see!

I'm pretty much guessing about power usage of the house since I have no good way to measure it or graph it against the solar generation, sadly. Data from the meter supplied by the power company is horribly lagged and limited and I've got no other kind of smart device in the wiring. Maybe someday. I'm sure there are gadgets that could be wired right into my breaker box or something. (Probably for some high cost I don't want to pay.)
@bigzaphod We bought an Emporia Vue 3 last year for $200, had it installed for an extra $75 while we were having other electrical work done. It’s been great.
@bigzaphod got it for the same reason as you did – we had a solar system, which provided no data whatsoever on consumption, and the electrical company only gave us a net number once a month
