Let's start the week with a simple message from UN Women.

Stop telling women how to live their life!

The continued focus of the media on telling women what to do reflects a wide-spread sexism in global societies.... it won't be stoped abruptly, but behind much prejudice is this assumed male right.

So, my friends, if you find yourself telling a women how to live their life ask yourself: have I the right to be offering unasked-for 'guidance' or 'advice'?

@ChrisMayLA6 I am getting an "All people's lives matter" vibe from some of the answers. Yes you can't force anyone to live their life in a particular way, but women face SPECIFIC issues in this regard. There is no male equivalent of what is happening right now to women in countries like Afghanistan. Men are not directly affected by the abortion bans spreading over the USA. Men are not getting their penises cut off so they can be free of sexual temptation and come to their wife's bed in a pure state. Men are not subject to a daily barrage of misogyny and rape culture.
@SecondUniverse @ChrisMayLA6 They're part of the issue, this is not about men's rights and while men do suffer under patriarchy they are not the targets of societal repression and rape culture on a daily basis like you say, there's no equality without equity and right now it's deeply biased against women in terms of the power structures we're talking about.
