#GoodMorning everyone. Bank holiday today. What to do? Run away with everyone else, or stay at home and do something useful?

@suearcher running away is much more fun. *huggles* 🀣

@skyfire747

Yeah, it is. But I can't decide. We've got plenty we could do here, and we're lucky to be able to take time off at other times, when there are fewer other people about.

@suearcher morning from sunny Aberystwyth. I misread that as "run away with someone else", which put a whole different vibe on it. Have a good day.

@pengfold

Oh dear, no!

Still can't decide. Thinking maybe it makes more sense to stay home, and avoid the crowds, and have time out another day, when everyone else is at work. It's not like we're short of things to do here....

@suearcher same here. We've booked the week off, and will be heading up to Ormskirk tomorrow or Wednesday, so braving whatever crowds are near here doesn't seem so much fun.

That said, I've just walked into town to pick up a pair of glasses and, at the moment, it's very quiet.

@pengfold

Well, we've stayed home - I did a bit of pottering in the garden, and then as the sun was out, we got the picnic chairs out and had our mid morning brew sitting outside. And I've picked some rhubarb, so I'll make crumble this afternoon.

@suearcher we have a very small rhubarb patch which is taking a long time to get established. Last week we risked, for the first time, picking some. One stalk, which I stewed with apple and we had with ice cream.

Crumble seems years off!

@pengfold

Our plant is doing very well this year. It's a few years old, and I split the crown a couple of years ago. I think we've had three pickings so far.

I made crumble, and there are three sticks left, so I'll make a rhubarb upside-down sponge for the freezer tomorrow.
