Processing a year's worth of #3dprinting scraps into shelves.
This is a mix of all sorts of PLA. Oven at 200Β°C. It doesn't entirely self level at ths temperature, so after it cools I trim it and flip over to the other side like this to melt again.
@dalias that both looks so cool and is a great reuse!
@dalias can you run over it with a rolling pin while it's soft?
@webhat Yes, I think I should try something like that. Need a rolling pin that can handle the temperature and that won't stick, tho.
@dalias maybe with grease paper? 🀷
@dalias thinking about i, when the kids make perlerbead art, I put an encyclopedia on top to stop it from curling as it cools
@webhat I've got parchment paper rated for over 200Β°C.
@webhat And here's how it looks.
@dalias Dedicated oven?
@lispi314 No, there's nothing left behind and nothing really harmful to begin with, but I max the ventilation fan and open windows anyway.
@dalias That looks like unicorn vomit. It hasn't had the time to be properly digested into a beautiful pastel rainbow.
@dalias (a) would love to see the outcome; (b) how bad does it smell?
@richardgunther It smells deliciously sweet like PLA usually does. πŸ˜‚
