I'm having a heck of a time finding plain old French lilac, all the nurseries are selling dwarf varieties. We have a Korean Pixie lilac but I'm looking for the classic one my grandma had.
Thanks for the boosts everyone! I was able to track down both old fashioned purple and Charles Joly lilac through a friend's neighbor. In a few years, I'll probably start selling some shoots if people want them. Apparently the classic old fashioned purple and Charles Joly variety are harder to come by these days. Everything is dwarf size now and they're definitely full sized.
