Patrick@arrrg I am not sure it'll make anyone feel better, it's just that this seems like the default thing that happened in almost every country in the West lately.
The centrists and neoliberals failed to make anyone's life better, told everyone to put your face in there, eat that whole ass, and if you complain the worse fascists will win.

Trudeau almost handed Canada over to the far right, Starmer is going to hand the UK to the lunatic right, France avoided disaster by luck.

All because telling people to eat your ass or the bad guys will win is actually the best way to get the bad guys to win. It's so obvious and so frequent that part of me thinks that was done on purpose.
@PatrickoftheG it is on-purpose. power is what matters to both parties. both parties see value in there being only two parties - ever. so whatever they need to do to maintain two-party control of the governments - state and federal - that's what they do.
they're so obviously two-sides of the same coin. it's why they had to stop sanders at all costs, even if that meant trump becomes president, he represented Other.

@tadbithuman @arrrg Exactly that too. I'd feel a lot less bad about the future if everyone stopped for a minute and admitted that they did wrong, maybe even try to do less wrong in the future as a strategy.
That doesn't seem to have been the key takeaway, though. They're just going to do it again.
