Strawberry Switchblade's album was released on this day in 1985!

This being the era of vinyl & cassette, the album was 2 separate sides. Side 1 opened with Since Yesterday & ended on 10 James Orr Street with Andrew Poppy's arresting epilogue demanding you sit quietly & let it resonate 🧵

Side 2 of the Strawberry Switchblade album also opened with a bright single - Let Her Go - & ended with a sombre atmospheric orchestrally-augmented track.

The lush Michel Legrand-esque strings on Being Cold bring side 2 to a profound & resonant end

So the CD reissue of the Strawberry Switchblade album with it all in 1 sweep & a bunch of extra tracks (that's the standard track listing on streaming services too) doesn't deliver the intended flow. But we surely can't see the likes of Poor Hearts & the extended Trees and Flowers as detrimental?!

What do you think? Is the album best appreciated on carefully ordered old school physical formats or is it better to immerse yourself in the 20-track extravaganza?
