"Why didn't Nintendo ever revisit the design of Zelda II??"

Because they were waiting for a cool-af transbian furry to do it for them:

@monnie I love Zelda II so much, and I've always wondered the same thing.
@ClarusPlusPlus Is this the new way people advertise retro games now? Because it's working on me. :D
@ClarusPlusPlus is it also on Itch or GOG?

@dregntael It will release on itch, the same day it launches on Steam!

@ClarusPlusPlus Love how you're taking the Super Kitsune Tails playbook and doing it justice on Zelda II!
@katakislives Thanks! :D Kitsune Tails was a pretty big inspiration.

@ClarusPlusPlus as the only zelda 2 defender i know:

AAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!

@PinballWitch AAAAAAA!!!

There are dozens of us! 😄

@ClarusPlusPlus the metroidvania genre is my favorite, and i've been on the zelda 2 is an important proto example of the genre along side castlevania 2 since day one! im old, and i cannot wait to play this!
@PinballWitch Thanks, that really means a lot to hear! ^_^ Zelda II is easily my favorite NES game of all time, and I always felt like there were some good ideas in there that just needed a little fleshing out, that could really expand well into a Metroidvania-like design if given a chance.
@ClarusPlusPlus absolutely. and after the success of Arzette as a cdi zelda throw back, this is totally what ive been wanting!
@ClarusPlusPlus
This looks amazing!!!
@ClarusPlusPlus they saw that path and went "It is not for us to take. We must stay in our lane and leave that journey for one greater than us!"
@ClarusPlusPlus this looks amazing!
@ClarusPlusPlus the little bounce back when you hit the enemy with your sword brought me back to my childhood. Nice attention to detail! Wishlisted.
