Traffic through the Strait of Hormuz has increased, reaching the highest weekly average since the war began.

Bloomberg data shows 13 ships crossed since Friday morning, 10 exiting the Gulf and three entering, including LPG carriers headed to India and vessels with Iranian or Chinese links. Iran is directing ships through a northern passage near its islands of Larak and Qeshm and has set up a tolling system.

Some vessels turn off tracking signals in high-risk waters, making monitoring difficult. Recent crossings include a French container ship and a Japanese LNG tanker, possibly linked to diplomatic negotiations.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi assured that non-hostile ships can transit Straite of Hormuz safely after coordinating with Iran.
