Im runing a oneahot with some family is there a simple #d6 based #ttrpg system? Im most familiar with #dnd5e but im fine if its verey different.

Edit: i played useing #risus and omg it was so fun i ran a #scp based adventure for 2 hours and only 20mins was spent teaching complete newbies to ttrpgs how to play highly recommended for its simple quick character creation. It was hard to rule as i wasn't used to the system but that comes with experience

Thanks for the Recommends tho

@cutesobri I've heard good things about Powered by the Apocalypse:

It uses a 2d6 roll to resolve conflicts. It's used in many games, but Dungeon World is among the best known, being a D&D-like system.

This week I’m taking a break from my regular recommendation posts to talk about some indie ttrpg systems that have gained some well-deserved attention over the years. I’m going to introduce you to how...

@cutesobri What's the genre, and are you playing with kids or adults?

GURPS Ultra Light is free, very simple, uses D6, and conceptually not too far away from D&D:

I've played Grok?!, and it's fairly lightweight, and seems like it would suit your needs:

I've never played Fate, but it uses D6, and can be very lightweight, depending on which version you want. Price is PWYW:

@Space_Burger_Steve Christan adults

@cutesobri I'm not sure if you mean the adults are Christians, or if the game itself will be Christian in genre, like angels and miracles and stuff.

If it's the adults, then Grok?! might be a little too psychedelic, depending on how straight laced they are.

If it's the game, GURPS and Fate would both be able to emulate it. If you want to go a step further, you could look for In Nomine, which is sort of a cross between "Touched By An Angel" and "Prophecy," although it's not lightweight:

@cutesobri The classic T&T is simple and d6 based. The quickstart can be had for free.

@cutesobri I would suggest blades in the dark, but it definitely is built around not one-shots with a few exceptions.

It's also playbook based but uses dice pools instead of a single result.

What's the vibe you're looking for for your one shot, I might have other suggestions that are further afield.

(I see a response suggesting pbta and also a good choice)

@cutesobri I really like the Fate system and found it was pretty easy to introduce to folks who haven't done any TTRPG before.
