The fact that people have accepted car deaths as being just a normal state of things is anything BUT normal. No, humans were never ever meant to die in car crashes.

"The Locomotives Act 1865 (the Red Flag Act) imposed on road locomotives a speed limit of 2 mph in towns and 4 mph in the country. It increased the crew to three, of which one was to walk 60 yards ahead carrying a red flag."
I'm not sure others will like it, but I'm perfectly fine with this. I care about comfort and safety when travelling above everything else.
