This is not acceptable, plain and simple.

And against law, I assume.
I hope so. Can we do something about this? Like, e.g. burn their[1] sorry asses?
[1] This is pretty large plural. Indeed I want to see everybody who thought this was Ok and participated in such a design decision to be "freed" up for tasks for which they are more suited. Disinfecting phones, for example. And if everything else fails there is still an arch to Golgafrincham we could could offer them a place on.

This must be taken down ASAP. This is a solution tying EU countries to the US controlled environment, with US describing and treating EU as an adversary.
Someone should ask publicly how many crypto coins had flown to the wallets of politicians pushing this insanity.
"The Government is legally obliged, under EU regulations, to ensure there is a digital wallet for accessing public services by the end of the year, and for private services by the end of 2027."
@fae2535 @Gargron If the quoted post isn't any indicator: The problem isn't the requirement to provide a digital wallet/ID solution. The problem is HOW our german government wants to solve it and WHICH services they want to exclusively use for this.
The outcome is that anyone can be blocked from access by order from a foreign (namely the US) government on a whim. Anyone jailbreaking their phone will have no access. Anyone using android forks is one business decision apart from being locked out.
I think if you're using an Android fork you're already locked out from the get-go?
@frog_reborn @Weirdaholic @fae2535
This is what I also believe.
@Weirdaholic @fae2535 @Gargron
Since my banking app refuses to run on LineageOS, because some Google security or attestation framework shit is not there, I very much suspect it will be the same for any digital Wallet. So I think we are already there and not 1 business decision away.
@Gargron The future: https://freenet.org/
There's also the old freenet https://www.hyphanet.org/

Count me in. I also want to see some consequences.

The problem is not "foreign code" (21.century, you know), it's about open source code and who has access to my data.
So, it turns out the German implementation of eIDAS (electronic ID wallet for e.g. age attestation) will require an Apple/Google account to function
Brainless persons in government office,
More likely they were purchased/bribed by us companys.
Absolutly not acceptable.
