I’m in no way trying to conflate this with the meaning of my last blog post, but after a six month gestation, we just gave birth to a public website. Of course, I’m making a sly little joke here about community, but I really believe in this stuff.

@codinghorror The difference is that a group of humans, dumb as they may be, still possess the ability to think, create, and empathize. That leads to growth and advancement of abilities. LLMs are speculative text generating algorithms. Their entire function is to be digital yes-men whose responses are entirely based on whatever sets of information the creators scraped from the work of others. Computers are still stupid, but in this context, it's a different kind of stupid than I intended in my original toot.
