I am in two places when it comes to Stephen King these days.

On the one hand I'm rereading his catalog and revisiting books I haven't read for 30 years.

On the other hand, there's still some of his books I'm reading for the first time.

This one was in that bucket.

Wow, Stephen King makes me so angry in the best ways. I'm blown aways that one man has so many compelling stories in him.

It's at once invigorating & aggravating as someone who would like to write ONE book.

It was great.

The title of this one is no joke by the way.

It's a dark and bleak-toned book.

But it's terrific.

@RVLara23 great quartet of stories!

1922: obviously a standout

Big Driver: an unsophisticated but well-executed revenge story

Fair Extension: quite an amusing take on a deal with the devil

A Good Marriage: interesting slow-burn with a protagonist who’s underestimated by the killer

Love that summary. I need to go watch the movies.

1922 - I think the best of the book. Incredible story telling.

Big Driver - Brutal story that's difficult to read & it gets a little silly at the end but in an entertaining King way.

Fair Extension - A lot of fun & I love the nod to The Dark Tower in this one.

A Good Marriage - Mostly loved this one as well. The last interaction was excellent.

And then, there's all of this. Hard to keep track of this stuff!

@RVLara23 1922 was adapted really well, doing its story justice.

Big Driver was pretty good for a Lifetime Movie, but that’s grading on a curve. Maria Bello and Ann Dowd turned in good performances, though.

Oh shit I didn't even realize they did Big Driver too.

Wow. THREE movies then. That's insane.

@RVLara23 oh yeah I forgot about Joan Allen in A Good Marriage. I really like her but obviously I thought the adaptation was forgettable 😂
