Here's a #Friday fright for you.

Was out looking for a table, and instead came across... this. It is a row of... display shelves? Cat trees? Torture devices? Made out of... huge hunks of wooden roots of some kind?

I'm assuming this is from SE Asia somewhere, but have no idea as to the kind of wood, just wondering why someone would ship it that far. I mean. I was afraid to get to close to them. One had a *sold* tag on it.

A different sort of use for these root balls, perhaps, is to slam them through a large saw and make tables out of them.

This reminds me of sticky buns or something. Now I'm hungry.

@czarbucks oh, that's kind of cool.
@czarbucks so did you find anything there you’d be willing to have in your home? That bunk bed is a thing too.

@czarbucks

Shelving for people with unlimited space, apparently.

Looks like there's literally less shelf space than the floor space it takes up.

@czarbucks Weird! And imagine the dust!

@czarbucks It reminds me a bit of this photo I took in the winter of 2015.

In 1910, a longer, gentler #railway replaced the original “Zig Zag” route down the western side of Australia’s Blue Mountains, leaving the original track as a kind of oxbow.

Decades later, the zig-zag was repurposed as a tourist attraction, but in the 2010s it was beset by vandalism and bushfires. Six months after the enormous 2014 fires tore through the area, this is what remained of the rolling stock.
