Do I have anyone from #Newfoundland or #NovaScotia on here? We're planning a vacation in June and want to know what we shouldn't miss while there.

@ve4grm Newfoundland is best land.

June is usually warm, but can turn cold quick. We had a dusting of snow last year on the 27th.

Where best to go depends on which side of the island you land on. There are a few radio history spots on the east side, if that is your jam.

@CowMan No worries about weather - we're from Manitoba so we can deal with it. We're definitely hitting iceberg alley for a bit, but will also be down in St John's as well. Radio history sounds interesting (as you can probably guess from my handle) - where do you recommend?

@ve4grm
Signal Hill (there is a station there sometimes, VO1AA), terminus for Marconi's transatlantic test [St. John's]

Admiralty House, Mt. Pearl - WW1 listening post turned museum

Cape Race - lighthouse, first transatlantic contact station in the 1900s, thus Titanic traffic, bit of a hike

Hearts Content - 1st transatlantic telegraph station

@ve4grm Little tidbit, on the AM dial, there are two stations additionally which hold the old Nfld prefix. VOCM and VOAR. Rest are Cxxx.

June is tail end of icebergs, hopefully you see many, and big, and close to shore! :)

@CowMan Awesome stuff, thanks!
We were judging iceberg season based on the festival in St. Anthony, so hopefully it's active enough in early June.
