I Write LikeAnother annoying writing glitch I have is when my brain seems to fall in love with one particular word or phrase. It sneaks the word into every paragraph as a perfect match. Then, during revision I harvest the repetitions, always surprised at how my own brain pranks me this way.
David - Forking Mad@iwritelike Annoying when that happens. My brain seems obsessed with the word So. It crops up at the start of many a sentence, only to be obliterated later.
@daj I have this one, too! It seems to be indispensable when one needs to connect thoughts. I also often have "And", at the beginning of a sentence, as if I'm always writing a poem that needs this extra beat. Sometimes I have random words that get stuck, like "a tower of rocks that towered on a rock" which horrifies me to no end when I discover it. I have trust issues with my own brain after things like that.
