Agreed. Occasionally I manage to get very close to a preoccupied one in the clear. Followed this one flitting between some dense small trees/bushes about 10-15 ft away from me. Doesn't happen very often but it's a lot of fun to be that close 👍
@Rihilism usually the best I can get is stuff like this.
They do make some cool photos, but it’s usually like 200 shots per 1 like this. 😅
Marvelous photo! Gear isn't everything and not sure what you're using but it is incredibly hard to catch such a small bird in flight. I'm using a 200-500mm a a camera with a 45 Mp sensor but even ducks in flight are hard for me.
If I run across a nearby chickadee like this I can easily take over 100 pics🤷♂️ and most ain't so great, lol. These moments are are brief so persistence and luck play a big part.
Wow! That a nice set up👍. Chickadees are tough subjects. I have the same issue with nuthatches because they're so jumpy. But every once in a while one will pose for me between flits.
