Earth is now in the influence of the very fast solar wind from a coronal hole. The solar wind speed is exceeding 800km/s.
The IMF Bz has swung south to ~ -10nT, causing G2 geomagnetic storm conditions. Aurora is being reported at high latitudes.
A strong G3 geomagnetic storm is in progress. Aurora may be visible at lower mid-latitudes.
Aurora is being reported by amateur radio operators down to ~52°N over Europe.
Space Weather
Despite a very strong AE (auroral electrojet) and a solar wind speed of 711km/s, the IMF is now in positive territory, meaning very little or no aurora for the time being 😠
