@[email protected] @JeniParsons @bookstodon Again, you show up with Moms For Liberty talking points. You fail to take into account underserved communities, my right as a parent to say no, you may NOT tell my kid what they are allowed to access at the library based on your own personal standards, or that libraries already have a thorough vetting process. Sorry/not sorry that vetting process doesn't involve you personally.

I don't think you get it.

I'll see myself out the side door. #Bookstodon

@dbsalk My dude, you can't fix stupid. This person thinks librarians have zero braincells and would allow anything in a library without even a moment of thought. Meanwhile librarians need masters degrees in Library Sciences and have a huge amount of knowledge and research skills to make educated decisions on book content.

Why you gonna argue with someone who just joined, has no avatar or profile info, no followers, and has the MoL talking points? They simply don't get it.

@Aaron 💯 Of course! "I'll see myself out the side door" has for a long time been my signal that I'm finding a person or conversation toxic, and ending the exchange on my own terms.

Ironically, I think last time I employed that phrase was with someone who more or less aligned with my progressive-leaning ideology but felt like gatekeeping and pulling some HOA shit. I haven't seen them or their clique (like nerdy Mean Girls, I swear) posting lately, so maybe they blocked me. Good riddance. 😂
