Vice President JD Vance said he thinks UFOs are demonic. There is a part of Christian theology that lurks in the background and says unexplainable evil phenomenon are demonic, but this doesn't make sense here for two reasons: 1) There's nothing evil about UFOs (at least so far) and 2) UFOs are explainable phenomenon (usually weather balloons).

So to me, this shows someone who has been to church and heard these things said, but hasn't put much effort into understanding his faith. And that's a dangerous thing. The person with a lot of belief and no grounding in reality is dangerous. They will say and do things based on their beliefs, but without doing any actual research into what is happening in reality.

This is exactly why the Pope keeps critiquing him... he may have some faith, but he has no grounding. He'll act on impulse rather than facts.

@jfslicer and if there are UFOs which are still unexplainable, we will doubtless get to the point where we can explain them. Whereupon they will no longer be unexplainable.

It reminds me of the Space Trilogy by C.S. Lewis, which is admittedly allegory, but which also tells me that there is no reason to believe that what God did for us on this World, He did not do on others (there's no reason to believe He did either; we just don't know). :-)
