I do not understand why Ukrainians use Telegram at all tbh. We had a documented case from part of then occupied Kherson where FSB fell for a smoke test. Unfortunately not everyone got out. The excuse to talk to relatives in Russia and the occupied territories is less compelling of late. My guess is inertia.
@nf3xn It *does* take a lot of effort to get all your contacts to move. "Inertia" is understandable. Is Signal a viable alternative ? Just having a consensus on where to move to, would help I guess.
@hakona True and if you are in the occupied territories then downloading and installing Signal could put a target on your head. Maybe hiding in plain sight is the least bad option here.

@nf3xn

100% inertia. TG has great features, is easy to use, and it's an easy sell to slavs because the company head is a slav himself. Decaf version of pan-slavism. They love eachother until they hate eachother.

Actually TG is a very flawed by design product that's showing it's age and limitations. But it's very easy to use, and ease of use trumps all in most cases- see: SMS/texting which should never have been born and should have died a long time ago.
