The real lesson from this "LinkedIn uses nasty methods to collect info about your browser's extensions" seems to me to be simple: Don't use Chrome. Only Chrome allows such a deep level of access it seems.
@jwildeboer Yeah the -Fox forks seem to be a little bit better but all I used Waterfox for yesterday was to take that final step to close my already dormant LinkedIn account.

@jwildeboer

Don't use LinkedIn might be another lesson.

@MichelPatrice @jwildeboer Came here to say this. In fact, don't use Microsoft anything. All of their products are extractive garbage.
@jwildeboer
The internet on Chrome without private DNS and adblocker is a terrifying place.
That's why I avoid searching the web on my work computer as much as possible.
With Waterfox, NextDNS, PrivacyBadger, and U-Block Origin, plus Kagi for search, it's at least somewhat tolerable on my personal systems... but yeah, it requires quite a bit of work...
@jwildeboer exactly suggest as OS Open Source Linux Mint and LibreWolf..
@jwildeboer Interesting Chrome limits the API's regarding adblockers but lets LinkedIn Spy on you.
