@DrALJONES I would have preferred the war blundered into an accidental* removal of the Iranian regime even if that meant we'd have to listen to Trump boasting for years.

Of course that was a pipe dream. In that context I actually hope Hegseth keeps doing this. Every time it adds a new snow drift to the unstable pack near the top of Mount Incompetence.

The avalanche will be horrific but at this stage it's inevitable. Let's just get it over with.

@DrALJONES Yeah but when the collapse finally DOES happen it can happen quite quickly.

The Roman Empire declined for centuries before collapsing in roughly 50 years. The USSR declined for decades but collapsed in the space of 2 years. In today's information age it would be even faster.

@DrALJONES Yes exactly. But this incompetence WILL collapse under its own weight. I really hope it doesn't take the entire US society with it, but if it destroys the entire neocon/MAGA/Trump house of cards, that would be the best outcome and then it really can't happen soon enough.
