Erin 🌱#Maryland folks - some shenanigans are going on with the Utility RELIEF Act. I called my senator to urge her not to support it. It would:
- make everyone else pay when someone decides to run a new gas line, so you and I subsidize expansion of the fossil fuel system
- gut energy efficiency rebates
Those energy efficiency rebates come from EmPOWER. EmPOWER has huge benefits! Cutting it basically reduces bills now and guarantees they'll be higher later. Like cutting Social Security or retirement contributions. You can read more about it here: rmi.org/wp-content/u...
