@welshpixie Quite a while ago I was trying out every dark pencil I could find to use for life drawing. I couldn’t find any of the EE pencils in my remaining collection, but I’d suggest trying the Conté Pierre Noire pencils in an HB - they’re fairly hard, very black, fine grained, not scratchy.

@welshpixie Good luck. The 100 EE seems to have been discontinued around 2007.

I read this blog post that someone found them on the Staedtler Thailand website back in 2007, but they are long gone now.  It also suggested that the 8B was about the closest replacement.

@welshpixie Amazon Germany has them but I assume 200€ for 12 is a ridiculous price? (I would not think a pencil should cost more than one euro but I don't know if they are somehow special)
