OK, let's talk about #Spearhead a little bit. Comments from the @warhammercommunity crowd are welcomed.

First things first: I can't like a game with a mandatory cardboard play area and L shaped scenery without any meaning in terms of play (besides cutting line of sight and stopping you to just run forward). It's my fault because I didn't read the <complete> set of rules so it took me by surprise when I was looking for my neoprene mat and matching scenery.

@warhammercommunity Second: If you don’t like Underworlds and 40k mechanics like scoring points using (random) cards at the end of your turn if you meet certain requirements, or MTG-like interrupt cards, this is not for you.

There’s these situations when you are trying to move or shoot in our turn and your opponent uses their cards, interrupting you, taking more actions than you in your own turn (boooring); add this to a double turn and you’ll get 5-10 minutes of throwing saves.

#Spearhead

@warhammercommunity The plot twists are a lot worse than Warcry’s (and that’s a lot because there’s only one in Warcry, #spearhead has one every round). Maybe it was out game, because half of them weren't aplicable, but It's not great when so many cards you get can't be used.

I don't think “fast paced” is the most common way people feel about the game.

@mr_whateley @warhammercommunity fast paced is relative but yeah that's how I've felt about it compared to standard AOS.
I've also never had a turn where my opponent did more things than I.

I'm not sure if you got unlucky or what, but at any rate im sorry you had a bad time.

@Moah @warhammercommunity Failed 2 charges on first turn by 1 inch (I forgot I was a Crusader army with +1 to those rolls). Failed all hero abilities (so no regeneration, no move bonus, no to wound bonus). The only ability I used once was a passive “feed” mechanic that gave +1 attack to my Cryptguards (that’s my best unit overall). The Varghulf scored 0 wounds against clanrats in the first combat fase.
@Moah @warhammercommunity Also, only 4 wounds against the Rat general with the Knights on charge, his counterattack (and gun), and later the Rat Ogres obliterated the Knights (no chance to retreat or regen).
