Beans are soaking for Hetty's beans, plus chickpeas for a couple of uses during the week.

The lima beans have soaked for Hetty's Brothy Miso Beans (https://hettymckinnon.com/recipes/yuzu-miso-glazed-asparagus-tart-rk2yd-f8hm6-l4fk4), and they are going into the pressure cooker to cook with the aromatics she lists.

It crossed my mind that they'd probably cook just as well in a slow cooker, if that's your thing.

Here they are going into the jar to soak, and then at the end of soaking (with a little more water added). I was a bit confused because I usually soak in a bowl and they seem to expand much more.

Then TIL that if you soak in a jar, the weight of them keeps them from expanding upwards, so they jam themselves tight into the jar. Much harder to remove and I had to pry them every now and again with a chopstick.

Back to soaking in the bowls.

@LifeTimeCooking I’m glad you shared that last bit because I thought the jar looked very practical space wise! Did the same happen with chickpeas or were they okay in the jar?
@LifeTimeCooking
Oooh will try this!! And by "this" I mean the recipe not the jar soaking! 🤣
