@kai Oh wow.
I reported in the Feedback app, that magically appeared and disappeared on my phone, that I know that they are purposely preventing me from upgrading to 18.7, which will render my iPhone 13 mini useless.
I’m taking full credit for it being suddenly available again 😉

@kupfers Ugh, I know that feeling.
Downgraded almost all my AppleLossless tracks to 320kbs already. Keep deleting photographs and videos.

@eWalthert Music and Photos is not even the problem. Easy to backup elsewhere. Anything iCloud (messages, Jesus) but also mysterious things like the Health app cling to their GB as if there was no tomorrow. I bought a refurb 13 mini with more storage but like the “eingelaufene” unpreciousness of this 12er

@kupfers I invested in gigs, rather than offloading to iCloud.
I don’t like the idea of being offline, not able to access one of my favourite tracks or pulling up an image. Also I don’t like iCloud in general. Only use it to sync stuff like @MonaApp

@eWalthert yeah I don’t use online music (album-purchase person) and I don’t even sync messages with iCloud. No idea why it has 26 GB of messages on it and I can’t find a way to get it off there manually.

@eWalthert @kai I upgraded my 13 mini to 26 a while ago and I can still do all the, mostly useless, things I do with my phone.

We should start a 13 mini club.

@vasilis @kai I heard from several people, that it completely drained their battery.
Now they have a codependent relationship with a battery-pack.

However I’m happy to be able to stay on 18.7 for a while.
And we should include 12 mini in the club, so @kupfers can be part of it.

mini = mini!

@eWalthert @vasilis @kai I have that battery pack interdependency anyway but happy if I don’t get less hours out of it for sure. I mainly don’t want to upgrade for the horrendous looks and usability. Already disliked all the changes to the Photos app etc in 18

@eWalthert @vasilis @kai @kupfers On mini, too. I refused updating (dislike liquid glass) but then I feared the security issues more. However, no noticeable worse battery performance for me. But: I disabled all transitions/visual effects and set the glass to „tinted“.

Good to hear, that I might be able to rock my Mini for a while longer.

@reimar @eWalthert @kai @kupfers Ooh thanks! I didn’t know about the tinted setting. Also some accessibility setting make it a bit less awful to look at: I checked show borders, reduce transparency and increase contrast.
