Today is my first Autism Awareness Day that I have been open with being AuDHD (autism & ADHD). I’m currently on a waitlist for formal diagnosis, probably a couple of months long, but I, with the blessing of my psychologist therapist, am finally comfortable being self-diagnosed.

The biggest lesson that I’ve learned so far through this process is that it’s absolutely essential to stop, take a break, and be patient with oneself.

@bobco85 All the best. Also, key is to avoid label defining you. Personally as an AuDHD I find neurotypicals lacking depth and sensitivity to detail. But few would draw attention to such positives when talking of AuDHD. The prevailing mindset is one that sees difference as a flaw almost by default.
