just got a fascinating email trying to hire me as a consultant for my expertise in treating, uh, aortic stenosis
@0xabad1dea I got a cold call yesterday from someone trying to pitch me on some sort of AI "visibility" platform. They had my name right, but everything else wrong and they did that thing where they tried to just keep talking. Had to very abruptly cut them off. Pretty sure a whole lot of people are asking ChatGPT for people's contact info and getting erroneous results. In this case, I think they had me confused with the head of software engineering for AMC.
@0xabad1dea I also think people are scraping social media with AI agents trying to find people who've expressed interest in certain topics. Had a headhunter try very actively to recruit me for a job and the job did pertain to a bunch of subjects I've written about, worked in, etc.
Seems to have missed the fact that I'm very adamantly against using these tools to KILL PEOPLE. Yes, I'm interested in drones. Yes, I'm interest in AI. Yes, I've done a lot of work with robotics.
@Infoseepage @0xabad1dea I keep getting these calls from recruiters that seem to assume I'm some AI expert. It's a very flattering pitch, full remote, high 6 figures with a signing bonus, which is how I know it's not for my industry.
